These do not need to be washed (and lanolinized) prior to use.
There are no harsh chemicals used on the organic wool, so it still contains its natural lanolin content. The lanolin contributes to wool's self-cleansing properties, so when the wool absorbs moisture, the lanolin is activated to cleanse the pads.
